0.5 The hero without stain and with a lot of sugar

Journal Entry: Wed May 7, 2008, 12:58 AM
The most "tragic" and full of dejà-vu moment has been without any doubts the one of the creation of the main character, that in the beginning I was used to call "the hero without stain and with a lot of sugar". It has been very difficult to come to the final stage of this creation, because I'd liked to not use the old usual lines of cretions about heroes - untill I decided to do that, but my own way.
The "hero" of my story is a very classic character, starting by his vague descent from the Elves (than prelude therefore to a role a lot interesting for him in the history of Nauros…;), until arriving to its interest for history of the past and the exploration (what that instead colleague him to Altharion the Storyteller).
It goes without saying some that this high boy, from brown hairs tending to the blond man, with the blue eyes and the childish smile will end in order to interpret a predominant role of the story, but however would be an error
to consider it "the" only protagonist of the story.
Except this, to succeed in to realize the figure of
Kyvenge has been much difficult one: initially because I wanted at all costs to avoid the stereotyped heroic figure, and in continuation because, also having embraced at first
that type of hero - than from the pure ignorance it reaches to being the commander of men - I have tried constantly
to take the distances from it, and indeed the character
has developed itself in way somewhat strange and, I would add, original, 'cause of many ways of acclimatization and
interlace with the other characters.
Kyvenge is insecure, true, loyal, and if some times it behaves in predictable way, other times it stays away from the first line and it otherwise acts, or it doesn't act at all. This way of his to do embarrassed and nervous makes him to my eyes very "personal", very "to his way", and to me it seems that it's a good thing... make me know if you agree.

0.4 Behind the story

Journal Entry: Mon May 5, 2008, 11:10 AM
In the strange case (but, we know it, the ways of the Lord are ended) when someone of this website's visitors could have bought and (but not necessarily) read the first pages of the book, maybe this person could have asked himself who is this Altharion the Storyteller and what is his bond with the story.
Maybe isn't very clear at the beginning (even if I tried to say it very clearly, in my own way), but proceeding with the story the reader should understand the importance of Altharion and Vanima inside (and outside) the story, because without their story, Nauros couldn't exist at all.
Altharion is a very particular Elf. He isn't very good in magic, in knowledge or in sword art of fighting. But there is a field where Altharion hasn't any rivals: he is a dreamer, and like every dreamer, when he falls in love, he goes strictly ahead, so much to create a real myth on this love.
So, there is on these floors that Nauros has its origins, the myth inside the myth, the story was born for love; love for a person, love for friends that are close to you and help you when you're in difficult moments, love for stories itself. It's a depraved circle, and Altharion knows this very well, and it's because of this that he wants to tell stories: to affect, to amuse, to make people think. A long time ago Altharion met Vanima, his beloved girl, with a story. Now is the moment to tell again that story, to everybody that they will want to listen to it.

The return of the King

Journal Entry: Sat Apr 26, 2008, 9:16 AM
So, now that you have a vagueidea of the world where is acclimatized my story, I think it's time to talk a little about the story itself.
The story of Nauros starts with the return of Gaunor, King placed of Nauros that has been condemned to exile 10 years ago, after the homicide of his own wife, Princess Nima. Why and how all this happened, is still a mistery, but few sure things are that Gaunor has done quickly a great career inside the Army of Nauros, thanks to his great experience of swordman and magician - a power nowday very seldom to see in men. And rightly now you'll ask me... and so? And what could we do with this Gaunor? You'll see, you'll see. You just have to know that Gaunor is absolutely sure to be innocent, and that death of Nima and her mother Farlen were only a conspiracy of terrible demons Torn, that tormented him from when he was a child, and of... no, now I'm running too much. Let's say only that Gaunor is the character from who you'd have to wait... the greatest surprises.
Specially to be a real bad man.

I have forgotten...

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 23, 2008, 8:32 AM
...to explain you what is Nauros. Not so bad, I've opened this website only for this goal.
Nauros is a Realm. Not just another Realm, but a Realm Realm, you know, one of those with a King, a lot of fortresses here and there, a pair of villains really thirsty of blood and young girls,a little group og heroes that don't have an idea and a monster put there only to have some more colours. Oh, and there are hills, sea, stars...
Ok well stop with silly things. Nauros is a Realm, or better THE Realm where my story will be told. It's an ancient Realm, who has been founded by the Elves (those "first born" that I inherited from Tolkien's books, but that in my story are already dead, almost of them), but everyday much more corrupted and ruined from when Men started to domain it. You'd never say it, uh? But now comes the interesting part. The Elves founded a second Realm, Numar, into the West, but both of them (West and East Elves) have been killed during the Great War of Evil against Kornoma, the greates expression of evil in the world.
But Elves' war hasn't been fully useless, how it'd be discovered so much time later... but I'll tell you this next time.

Introducing Nauros

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 21, 2008, 2:02 AM
Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!, said the Elves created by
Tolkien's pen in the famous book "The Lord of the Rings",
or, in English, "stars shine upon hour of our meeting". And
I'd want to say the same to everyone that will visit this
page, a little space where I'll publish personal passage,
images and tale drawn from my book - at the moment on sell
only by internet - called NAUROS.
What is Nauros? Well, sometimes I ask myself too. So
maybe it could be better if I first explain you who am I.
My name's Alessio, I'm a boy who lives near Milano and
during last 3/4 years, while I was studying at the Statal
Institute of Art in Monza (that from now on I'll call simply
and friendly "ISA"), I tried to be a writer too. Well,
tried.. I've always read a lot of books, comics, and more;
one of the books that I loved above all others is, maybe
you'd already understood, "The Lord of the Rings". So when,
in 2004, after passing the year before writing a fanfiction
in 7 episodes about the character of Paperinik (Donald
Duck's superheroic alter ego, existing and created in Walt
Disney Italy from 1969. You can read only the first part of
my old fanfiction on the website where it has been published
in 2003: [link] who I still say thanks
to it and its people of fan :), I had to choose what kind of
work could it be my next creation (maybe an original one,
finally!), it has been relatively easy to choose fantasy
like the perfect ambient for my deliriums.
So, it happened that on October 30, in 2004 (I remember
it because... oh, well, for me it was a very important day,
the beginning of my first original project!) I started to
draw characters of a fantasy comic from the overed-measure
ambition, specially in its topics to deal (friendship, love,
religion, death, identity) and in its land's dimension.
Obviously, I understood very soon that so much things
couldn't be easy to do in a comic made by a single person
(specially if that person were I), so I decided to try
something different from comics (media with I was working
with from 8 years!): another kind o telling stories, easy
and fast to work on, with I had a lot of experience writing
that fanfiction of Paperinik... I mean, writing.
So it happened that, without knowing anything about
Christopher Paolini, I started to write, to draw, to project
a fantasy world. I don't know what pushedChristopher to
throw away so many days, because I have to confess that
sometimes I'd preferred to do something different. But now
that I've finished, that the book is on sell and above all
that I'm waiting to know what people will think of it, I'm
very happy of had insisted with myself untill last moments -
so much that I passed months and months on few chapters of
the book just to decide which version of them could be
better, which way to close the story could be better - and
now I'll finally understand if I wrote a good story. I hope
you'd understood that for me NAUROS has been so much more
that mere attempt of publish something, but on the contrary
it is a work made by heart, for who will read it by heart...
Enjoy your reading.
